EIT at Bengal Global Business Summit 2016

The Government of West Bengal is taking up various brand new initiatives to enhance the industrial and economical structure of the state. Bengal Global Summit is one of these amazing platforms, which is helping the top class industrial leaders to know and understand the positive aspects and opportunities they can get in West Bengal. On that special event, many top class industrialists were present to understand about the industrial opportunities for their various industries. In the year 2016, the summit was held in the Milan Mela ground. This captivating event was scheduled for the period of 7th -9th January 2016; it was the third edition of Bengal Global Business Summit in Kolkata. In this Summit many national and international delegates were present such as Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay, commerce Minister of Bangladesh Tofail Ahmed, British employment minister Priti Patel, Chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kehriwal, union ministers Suresh Pravu, Arun Jaitley and various industry leaders from across the county. The main focus of this summit was on the emerging areas like smart cities, start-ups, IT and financial hubs, development structure of industrial infrastructure, services and skills, cluster leadership of MSME sectors, which are likely to give maximum growth rate in the upcoming years. Three days consecutive days were planned with numerous activities those are helping to gain the actual objective. Various national and international speakers were delivering their speeches on numerous industry based topics. Our respected CEO Mrs. Chandana Bhowmik was also invited on the event to represent EIT. That was an amazing and honoring experience for us; we have learned and experienced a lot. We were present on that event on 8th January 2016. After the registration program in the morning, the inauguration ceremony was done by lighting of lamp and felicitation. After that our respected Chief Minister of West Bengal Ms. Mamata Banerjee had addressed the entire industrial panel and greeted all. Various national and international speakers were delivering their speeches on numerous industry based topics. After the networking lunch, the positive and blooming points of West Bengal as the hub for startups, E-commerce and intelligent cities were discussed. There were also a theme focused sessions on Intelligent Cities and startups and lastly there were a special session with overseas delegates and B2B session.
